How Center for Story & Witness is using story to create change.

We’re MSNBC/Comcast newsmakers. Watch the video.

Comcast Newsmakers, the longest-running news and public affairs platform of any cable operator in the country, was created to recognize national trailblazers and engage them in meaningful conversations about issues, ideas, and community challenges.

With a focus on individuals and organizations doing work that is making a measurable, national impact, the newsmaker series lifts up those who are creating change in truly innovative ways.

The Voices and Faces Project (now Center for Story & Witness) is proud to be a new addition to the Comcast Newsmakers series. Our organizational founder, Anne K. Ream, recently sat down with journalist Tetiana Anderson to discuss the power and purpose of our testimonial writing program, the ways that personal narrative can break through ideological barriers during these politically polarized times, and how graduates of our writing program are using their testimonies and writing to call the world to not just compassion, but social action.

Thank you, Tetiana, for your smart and insightful questions. We are grateful to the entire team at Comcast Newsmakers for producing a piece that captures the “why and how” of our writing program so beautifully!
