AI for Peace in the Global Response to Violence Against Women and Girls – a day long conference on the margins of the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women – brought together global human rights leaders, advocates, artists, writers, and technologists seeking to address a critical question: how can AI be shaped responsibly to advance justice, accountability, and survivor-centered solutions?
The conference was organized by Microsoft, Apne Aap Women Worldwide, Generative AI for Good, European Network of Migrant Women, and New Generation in Action.
Author and Center for Story & Witness co-founder Anne K. Ream was a featured panelist at the conference, joining filmmaker Veronica Blecker, writer Eve Pomerance, women’s leadership advocate Patricia O’Dusami, and director/writer Karl Bardosh of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for Art, Resistance & Memory, a conversation about the creative possibilities and ethical challenges of AI-enabled artistic expression.
The conversation was moderated by Her Royal Majesty Queen Angelique-Monet Gureje-Thompson.
